Kim Nash
Is an abstract painter currently based in South East London.
Unusually for a largely self taught artist, she is continuing in a geometric hard-edge tradition inspired by Kandinsky, El Lissitzky, Mondrian, Malevich and Nicholson.
Her love of shape and colour are juxtaposed with dynamic and spacious compositions. Using a range of media from gouache to acrylic, immaculate execution challenges the viewer in this age of high speed high quality mass produced images.
Kim makes each image painstakingly using only painter’s materials; the results create a visual feast of colour and composition for the viewer. Kim prefers her images to come to her spontaneously and naturally as too much planning shows less imaginative results.
