Jennifer McDowell - wood turning

DO-WELL DESIGN is a company specialising in sustainable furniture and homeware.

It was founded in 2010 by Jennifer McDowell a recent graduate of Nottingham Trent University. Her passion for products and also people leads her to design objects to improve people’s lives and the world around them.

We have a range of stunning composite wooden bowls made by Jennifer from a wide range of woods.

Some fantastic news, DO-WELL DESIGN has won the award of Britain’s Most Creative Designer-maker in the sustainability category and also the Nation’s vote as Britain’s Favourite Designer maker.

Here is what the judges had to say about our work

We felt that by using pre-existing materials – and extending the life of things that might otherwise be destroyed or thrown away – you brought a sustainable approach to a very natural material.

Angela Linforth, Editor of Homes & Antiques magazine and one of the judges commented “By bringing together pieces of previously used wood, Jennifer gives the wood a new lease of life. In that they are both decorative and functional, Jennifer embodies the principals of the arts and crafts movement.”
