Alice Pead
Alice Pead was born in Islington, London in 1973. After graduating with a
BA Honours in Art Design & Media at Portsmouth University in 1998
she worked as a Fashion Stylist on some of the best know glossy
magazines including Vogue, Red & Sunday Times Style, before moving
into styling interiors for Country Homes & Interiors and Living etc,
to name but a few. This prompted a 10 year career working as an
Interior Designer on some of the most prestigious private residences
in London and Europe whilst working for companies such as ‘Janine Stone
Design’.
Alice creates collages that produce a seductive and evocative energy
using bold colours and forms in silhouettes. Her works combine female
forms of the 1960’and 1970’s Pirelli pip-up calendar girls and the sex
symbols of today, fusing images and our associations of them to create
striking sensual visuals. Images range from the demure understated
elegance of a bygone era to the erotic portrayal of today’s women.
