Abel Kesteven

Having graduated from the Kent Institute of Art and Design 1992 and working as a freelance illustrator for eight years, Abel realised his work was more suited to a fine art audience. With the freedom of not having to follow clients instructions, he began to experiment more with colour, light and movement.

In the last five years (whilst continuing to paint urban street scenes and local parks) he has begun working with clay, focusing on the human form. Distorting body shapes enabled him to create dynamic sculptures with a sense of the grotesque.

Abel is a member of the prestigious Chelsea Art Society and has exhibited his sculpture throughout London and the home counties.
